Canon EOS R5 with EF/RF adapter included
Description
Sara Meelan: I had always heard so much about what an amazing camera the R5 is and didn't realise just how amazing it was until I got my hands on one . It has taken my photography to the absolute next level with images looking like actual paintings.
Compared to my previous camera it's such a nice and light body and so easy to handle. I love that it works great in low light and images are so sharp. I can take one image and crop it in so many ways without compromising quality.

Paul Francis: I’ve been through various camera bodies and lenses in search of the perfect setup for my photography, after having the “right” set up with a Canon R6 and Sigma 150-600 . I had a mirrorless camera and a zoom lens. Bring on the birds. But then you can’t get close enough and you need to crop. And therein lies the problem. I had gotten very familiar with the operation of the R6, so I tried to pull more and more out of the images and as I started to sell quite a few landscapes and a few bird shots, I was acutely aware of the requirements to get really good sized prints in terms of pixels on page. I needed a solution. Ira to the rescue once again. “Here” he said “try this!!!” Handing me an R5.
I love this camera. Here’s a few reasons why.
• I love the ability to get around the camera and change settings quickly and easily without looking.
• I love how the camera feels in my hand. With battery grip or not it's solid, responsive, weather proof and awesome.
• I love the EVF which is streets ahead of the R6. Even though it's only a representation of the finished shot it's enough to know I need to tweak something to get it exposed correctly and make the shot.
• I love that at 45 megapixels I can crop quite hard and still have enough data to print large enough and at a good resolution to get something that looks awesome.
• I love that the new RF lenses coming out for it are lighter, sharper and better than before (my latest love is the consumer grade RF100-400). And you can just grab your camera and go. You can have fun. Don’t get me wrong, I love using a prime just like the next guy, but at my age, not sure how much longer I’ll be hand holding an EF500.
• I love how fast the camera is. Slap in a ProGrade CFExpress card and shoot your 20 frames a second in a burst and the buffer keeps up (mostly). Couple this with the right lens and lots of practice and you’ll be getting 20 frames per second of consecutive sharp shots to choose from.
• I love how configurable the buttons are. Since I discovered back button focus I’ve never looked back. I've got three buttons programmed. One for eye tracking, one for spot and traditional focus methods and one for unexpected action (The Boom Button). Preset to fast shutter, spot metering and some other juicy settings, if you’re shooting a bird on a perch at slow speed, and a falcon flies over, hit that button and instantly you’re at super fast shutter, and getting sharp shots almost every time. Love that.
