Canon EF 100mm f2.8 IS L macro

I love getting close to and unveiling the details of nature that are easily missed by the passer by - for this adequate light is often a big challenge. The crunchy sharpness of the Canon 100mm 2.8 IS L is perfect for the detail - but the deal breaker for me is the advanced Image Stabilisation that enables me to hand-hold this lens in natural light and still get these details at low shutter speeds. All three of the example images from myself here are taken without any flash (tho I do use flash also) - at 1:1 magnification.
This lens is not only great for macro work tho, it's also a superb lens for portrait and many other uses due to its incredible sharpness.
